As with other vehicles such as cars or motorbikes, insurance for motorhomes is compulsory for anyone who owns one. Any vehicle on the road that may, at some point, cause damage to third parties must be insured.
Even if you have your motorhome or campervan parked in a car park permanently or for long periods, it is also compulsory to take out insurance, as even when parked, a motorhome can overturn, causing damage to vehicles parked nearby, or even have an electrical fault, catch fire and cause damage to the property it is on.
In short, if you own a motorhome you will need to take out insurance to be to be in order with the law.
To insure your car, a questionnaire must be answered with the following information; such as the exact model of the car, the registration date, the driver's license issue date, the policy number of the previous insurance (if you transfer from another company) or the bank account number from which the premiums can be directly deposited. It is therefore recommended that you have the following documentation in hand:
- Driver's license.
- The vehicle registration document.
- Documentation from your previous insurance.
- A receipt from the bank and/or your credit card, for bill payments.
